FWing high above the London skyline aboard his most famous creation, the architect Julia Barfield is still euphoric due to the fact that the panoramic wheel London Eye has become a symbol of the city.
London Eye turns 25
“It was part of the millennium, so it was largely a symbol of the time that changes and I don’t know if it would have happened at another time,” says Barfield within one of the famous Eye capsules.
25 years after opening to the public on March 9, 2000, she established itself as one of the most recognizable monuments in the British capital. “We can always offer a dynamic and changing view of London,” confirms Robin Goodchild, Senior General Manager of the London Eye.
