It is “too early” to say that she will surely start, the ski hunter is quoted in a message from the association. But: “I joined the team in Nove Mesto Na Morave and continue my rehabilitation and training here. If my health allowed, I would like to start in sprint on Friday.”

Davidova emphasized: “I don’t want to make any promises now. It develops every day, and we will only make the decision shortly before the race. But if it works somehow, I would like to compete in front of the home fans.”

According to the association, the Czech had passed a stress test at the weekend when she took part in a race in Poland. Marketa Davidova has been laboratory on a herniated disc since December, and after conservative treatment, training was able to resume training for the first time two weeks ago. At the end of January, her head coach Jiri Hamza had put in the room that a premature season could not be ruled out.

Six biathlon races in the Czech Republic planned

The Czechs send five ski hunters to their home world cup. In addition to Marketa Davidova, Lucie Charvatova, Jessica Jislova, Tereza Vinkarkova and Tereza Vobornikova compete in Nove Mesto. Vitezslav Hornig, Michal Krcmar, Jonas Marecek, Tomas Mikyska and Adam Vaclavik fight for World Cup points in the men.

It starts on Thursday with the men’s sprint (6:25 p.m.), the next day the women are on (6:25 p.m.). On Saturday the pursuers (2:55 p.m., 5:40 p.m.) are on the program on Sunday (1:50 p.m., 4:45 p.m.).
