The German biathlon offspring has expanded its almost perfect relay record at the Junior World Cup in Östersund and drove up two more medals on Tuesday. In addition to the next title, there was also a silver medal.
After the German biathlon offspring at the World Cup in Östersund already won gold and silver in the two mixed seasons, the team set two more exclamation marks in the two junior seasons on Tuesday and again took place one and two.
In the junior race, however, it initially did not look like. Start runner Melina Gaupp caught a raven -black lying attack and even made a penalty round. In standing shooting, however, she only needed one after -loader. The 16-year-old was also a class of its own on the route. With just 20 seconds behind the top, she handed over to Sydney Wüstling.
Wüstling and Siegmund bring the World Cup title to the finish
Wüstling then showed an almost perfect performance in position. With just one after -loader and a strong mileage, she took over the tip. Wüstling ran out of the Norwegians for over 30 seconds and handed over the relay rod to first place.
Lena Siegmund finally brought the gold medal home confidently. The mass start-vice world champion only needed one after the two attacks and ultimately came over the line with a lead of 21 seconds on Norway.
Silver for German biathlon juniors
In the second race of the day, the German juniors also knew how to convince. Luca Anding, Lukas Tannheimer and Korbinian Kübler only had to give up the outstanding Frenchman at the finish line, which had not been beaten in the individual races in the past few days.
After seven loading and without a penalty round, the gap of the German team was 35.6 seconds. Bronze went to the Czechs, who finished 2:25 minutes after the new world champions.
