The worm has been in the German team since the four -hill tour. The World Cup in Trondheim should bring the trend reversal. The plan opened.
Andreas Wellinger is vice world champion in ski jumping on the normal hill. The DSV eagle surprised at the World Cup in Trondheim and landed in second place just behind Norwegian Marius Lindvik. Karl Geiger just missed a second German medal as fourth. Bronze went to the Austrian Jan Hörl.
The 29 -year -old Wellinger jumped 106.5 and 104.5 meters in the competition and ended up only 2.3 points less than world champion Lindvik. The lead over Hörl was again almost seven points.
In the high-class competition, the world-class ski jumpers defied the adverse conditions with constant rain and sometimes violent wind. Before the World Cup singles in Norway, the team of national coach Stefan Horngacher had had no chance in all competitions for around two months.
After the first single in the second World Cup week, there are three further decisions on the large hill for the first singles. On Wednesday (4 p.m.) the mixed is waiting – the next day, team jumping is on the program. Finally, the single world champion is sought by the large ski jump on Saturday.
