Oliver Kahn wants to get in at the traditional French club Girondin Bordeaux – but his first offer was rejected. The reason caused a sensation.
Oliver Kahn and Girondin’s Bordeaux – that’s not a love yet. The first offer of the former goalkeeper has rejected owner Gérard Lopez. The RMC Sport radio station reported. Kahn offered “without proof of funds”, it is said. A reason that makes you notice. Kahn had already been spotted for talks in Bordeaux about a week ago.
Kahn’s interest in the French tradition of French has been reported for months. In January of this year, the Vice World Champion from 2002 confirmed the reports. “It’s true. It’s just exciting. You have to see what is happening. I enjoy developing football clubs,” said Kahn in the ZDF “Sportstudio”. “This is a very interesting story that we are currently looking at.”
The history of the former French master is not only interesting, but also dramatic, especially the financial situation. After bankruptcy in the summer, the club had to eliminate and now compete in the fourth -class National 2. The debts amount to more than 100 million euros.
It was only on Tuesday that Bordeaux had given problems in the search for investors. The association expressly warned of the Arkin Capital LLP company, which has neither sufficient financial resources nor the necessary credibility for commitment.
It remains to be seen whether Kahn will make a new offer for Girondin’s Bordeaux after the failed first offer.
