Who jokes with fire (as the original title says, Jouer Avec Le Feu) is the twenty -two year old son of a railway worker, widower and with another eighteen -year -old son. But while the latter, Louis, thinks about paying the continuation of the studies, the first, Fus, he seems to be interested only in football and those across the AlongraSnzist fans which praise the strength and physical clash.
From here to become a militant of a violent extreme right, the step is very shortdespite the efforts of his father, who instead thinks it in an opposite way.

Directed by two French sisters and played by a Vincent Lindon as always perfect (consecrated by the Volpi Cup in Venice), The film looks without discounts to the fracture that exists between fathers and children – between us and themas the Italian title says – or rather to the obstacles that stand among the generations and that this father (like many others) does not know how to overcome.
It will admit it in the end, in court, in a heartbreaking speech for sincerity and pain, which can only certify the defeat of both. And that by canceling every easy justificationism puts the viewer in the face of the hardness of reality.
