With a victory against Fürth, Düsseldorf could have climbed second place on Friday. But a penalty prevented that. Düsseldorf’s goalkeeper was then angry.

After six games without defeat, Fortuna Düsseldorf lost for the first time in the 2nd Bundesliga on Friday evening. After a 1: 2, the points went to the guests of SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The decisive factor was the penalty that Fürth received at 1-1. Fortuna’s goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier had caused him after an impetuous against the ex-Düsseldorf Felix Klaus.

Kastmeier was able to parry the shot from Julian Green from the point. But a short time later, referee Eric Weisbach indicated that the penalty had to be repeated. Kastmeier had left the line too early, according to the rules, he must still be on it with at least one foot until the shooter shot.

This rule brought the Düsseldorf goalkeeper to the palm. “People sit somewhere, they make the rules that have probably never played football. They can’t feel it. They never stood in the goal,” said Kastmeier at the Sky microphone.

The visibly frustrated goalkeeper then described the control keepers as a “armchair puper” and immediately suspected that these words could have an aftermath for him. “I will probably get a fine in the end.” Instead, however, he put it again in the direction of the referee: “I also found the referee very cool that he pointed out me again before the second penalty immediately before the whistle that I should go to the line.”

Curious: A few weeks ago, the Düsseldorf goalkeeper experienced a similar situation before, but had emerged from it as a hero. In the 2-2 at the 1st FC Nürnberg in early December, he also parried a penalty from Julian Justvan, and the same mistake was made against Fürth. The decisive difference to Friday evening: Kastmeier was also on hand on the second attempt by the Nuremberg.
