Those who want to know exactly how long it will take before the riders are at the start of Gent-Wevelgem, can now easily follow this on the counting clock at the town hall of Wevelgem. The competition starts on March 30 on the Grote Markt in Ypres. The men leave at 10.40 am, the women follow at 1.20 pm. The finish is, as always, in the Vanackerestraat in Wevelgem.
Contractually, this is the latest edition of Gent-Wevelgem with the finish in Wevelgem, but the municipality would like to extend that by six years. According to organizer Flanders Classics, constructive conversations are underway and there is a good chance that the contract will be extended.
