The Grand Prix in Monaco has been suffering from for years that it cannot be overtaken on the narrow route. A new rule should now ensure more excitement.
In the future, there will be two compulsory boxing stops in the race in Principality. The Motorsport World Council of the International Automobile Association blessed a corresponding proposal by the Formula 1 Commission at a video conference.
At least three tire rates
The drivers now have to use at least three tire sets, using at least two different rubber compounds in dry. The route in Monaco is known for a few overtaking maneuvers and a mostly monotonous race with regular start-finish victories-that should change now.
