Nobody has done that before him: Jamal Musiala is in Bayern’s starting XI against TSG Hoffenheim. He breaks a record that highlights his class and talent.
Jamal Musiala is the youngest footballer in Bayern history to play 50 Bundesliga games. The 19-year-old is on Saturday (3.30 p.m. in the t-online live ticker) in the top game at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the starting XI for Munich.
Coach Julian Nagelsmann had already spoken very positively about the development of the national player before the anniversary. “His importance to Bayern Munich is huge. We’re glad he’s with us,” he said. Musiala has scored nine goals in 49 top division games so far.
Hoffenheim’s captain is missing against Bayern
Nagelsmann also let his other offensive stars play from the start: in addition to the seeded regulars Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sané and Kingsley Coman also played. Defender Dayot Upamecano initially sits outside.
The Hoffenheim team is missing captain Benjamin Hübner again after a positive corona test from the previous week. Back in the team is defender Kevin Vogt, who plays right from the start. Coach Sebastian Hoeneß has to do without the injured Sebastian Rudy and Bayern loanee Chris Richards.
