Long live the beautiful makers: residents of Ichtegem clean up litter

Today some sixty volunteers went out in the three boroughs of Ichtegem. Last year the campaign was good for ninety large garbage bags of litter.

The city council sees the fight against litter as a priority with strict gas fines. Anyone caught in Ichtegem risks a fine of up to 250 euros. In addition, two municipal employees will soon be able to hand out GAS fines themselves. “We don’t have to wait for approval from the police every time,” explains Mayor Lieven Cobbaert.
