Ski jumping star Stefan Kraft is slowed down by two incidents before the Nordic World Ski Championship. The Austrian suffered a hand injury after a cat attack.
The Nordic Ski World Cup starts in Trondheim on Wednesday. Stefan Kraft is also one of the favorites when ski jumping.
The Austrian now reported on eventful weeks before the World Cup that kept him in trot.
First, the 31-year-old was stopped by a painful lumbago.
After the successful World Cup jumping in Sapporo, he had the problems on the spine. According to their own statements, strength was unable to move for three days.
Stefan Kraft: “Hand opened”
In the meantime, he was “very positive” again, was able to jump again. “Now I’m fine again, the neck fits that far,” he said in a media round of the Austrian Association.
However, he recently had to survive an animal attack in his home country.
“We let the neighboring cat in for breakfast and I played nicely with her and stroked her. She really enjoyed it until she suddenly no longer interested her,” said Kraft. “Then she opened my hand.”
He then had to be vaccinated against diphteria and tetanus immediately and take antibiotics for a week to prevent inflammation.
Ski jumping star takes it with humor
Here, too, gave the all -clear: “It was very exciting and I was distracted a lot. Now calm can now stop.”
He now hoped for an “accident-free time” until the first World Cup jumping on March 2.
The ÖSV jumper took the incidents with humor. As teammate Michael Hayböck often says: “I always need something to jump well anyway,” said Kraft.
Then nothing stands in the way of a successful start in Trondheim in Norweg.
