Vice master Foxes Berlin showed a strong reaction in the handball Bundesliga after the bankruptcy in the Champions League against top team Wisla Plock.

The team around national player Nils Lichtlein, whose contract extension was announced by 2028 shortly before the start, celebrated a convincing 36:31 (19:16) home victory and consolidated rank on Sunday against SG Flensburg-Handewitt.

For Flensburg (5th), on the other hand, it was the first league defeat in seven games. The best thrower of the game was Füchse-professional Tim Freihofer with twelve goals.

The German champion SC Magdeburg meanwhile released his mandatory task, despite the great personnel worries. The team of coach Bennet Wiegert hit Frisch on Göppingen 28:25 (17:11) and thus remains a serious candidate in the title race. Although the SCM is currently sixth, in contrast to the competition, there are three games in the hindquarters.

In the first half, Berlin had led a lead with six goals, and Flensburg was able to catch up three goals until the break. In the second round, however, the foxes pulled away again. The 15 parades of the Serbian goalkeeper Dejan Milosavljev robbed Flensburg the nerve.

On Thursday (8:45 p.m.) Lichtlein and Co. continue to fight against Pelister Bitola in the penultimate preliminary round game of the Champions League in Group A for a direct ticket for the quarter -finals. The Berliners are currently in fourth place.
