German politics makes a jerk to the right. The combination CDU/CSU wins Sunday’s elections, and gets 28.5 percent of the votes. All eyes were aimed at the extreme right -wing AfD, which appears to get 19.5 percent of the votes. That is a little less expected, because in advance the party was more often highlighted above 20 percent.
