In Germany, right -wing parties booked a clear victory in the early elections on Sunday. The Christian Democratic Union of CDU and CSU became the winner. Opposition party AfD was rewarded with a doubling of the votes. The ruling Social Democrats (SPD), on the other hand, lost many voters and see the left -wing block shattering.
