On the Podokren, one of the great classics of the World Cup, the blue is fourth just 22 cents from the leader, the French Alexis Pinturault (first in 1’09 “54), and behind Lucas Braathen (at 1/100) and Jan Kranjec (at 19/100).
The race

On a track where he hasn’t collected much so far – in the past he was at most fourteenth – De Aliprandini was flawless in the upper part and accumulated much of the gap after the second intermediate, where Pinturault – still looking for his first seasonal success – and Kranjec have made a difference. The second heat will be very tight, in addition to the first four in 22/100, behind the blue there are many athletes in a handful of cents, from Kristoffersen (fourth at 28/100) to Brennsteiner (fifth at 35/100), to the leader Cup and specialty Marco Odermatt (sixth at 42/100). Below the second also Schmid (at 89/100) and Feller (at 98/100). At 2 ”19 Giovanni Borsotti. Riccardo Tonetti, Simon Maurberger, Alex Hofer, Hannes Zingerle, the junior downhill world champion Giovanni Franzoni and the junior junior world champion of giant Filippo Della Vite have yet to leave. The second heat is scheduled at 12.30.

Silver at the Cortina World Championships, De Aliprandini has already reached the podium this season with second place in Alta Badia. The crash in Adelboden disturbed a period of exceptional form and the blue came to the Beijing Games with only a few days of skiing training and went out in the second heat.
