Ajax and AZ both qualify for the eighth final. In Istanbul, AZ did that quite smoothly by playing 2-2 against Galatasaray, after the Alkmaarders won 4-1 in Alkmaar last week. Ajax started dramatically, two hits and a red card. With an enormous amount of fighting, Ajax held up and Kenneth Taylor made the redeeming goal from the dot.
AZ will take on Manchester United of Tottenham Hotspur in that eighth final. And Ajax will find Eintracht Frankfurt or Olympique Lyon in the next round. The draw is tomorrow at 1 p.m.
