One Belgian doctor charged 11,000 (!) Teleconsultations in one year. General practitioner of the year responds to abuse: “We are all afraid of it”

Many GPs are in telephone strike, now that they are no longer allowed to charge teleconsults. The costs got so out of hand, because some doctors were very creative with the system. For example, 29 doctors were able to divide 2.1 million euros from social security. “We are all shocked by that abuse,” says Dr. Linde Telley (47), who this week was elected by sector federation Domus Medica as General Practitioner of the Year. She tells how she looks at the abuse – and what solution she sees.
