Yves Vanderhaeghe was already at the helm at the Veeka for the third time in his trainer career, as the successor to Freyr Alexandersson. Vanderhaeghe previously trained KVK from 2014-2015 and from 2018-2021. He signed a contract until the end of the season, with option, although the club now abandons that contract.
KV Kortrijk – after the miraculous Houdini act to the barrages last season – had hoped to go through a quieter year. That seemed to be successful after the first games, but a constant did not happen in the results. Too many goals and difficulty scoring yourself, then you soon have two important pain points. Now De Veekaa is penultimate, with 19 points, five points ahead of Beerschot. The latter is in the stand.
