Yves Vanderhaeghe was already at the helm at the Veeka for the third time in his trainer career, as the successor to Freyr Alexandersson. Vanderhaeghe previously trained KVK from 2014-2015 and from 2018-2021. He signed a contract until the end of the season, with option, although the club now abandons that contract.
KV Kortrijk – after the miraculous Houdini act to the barrages last season – had hoped to go through a quieter year.
