In the Champions League playoff second leg against Celtic Glasgow (1-1), Bavaria’s top scorer Harry Kane had to be replaced at the break. The reason: calf problems were difficult for the Englishman.
The day after the game, there was a more detailed examination. This resulted in a bleeding in the calf that was created by a blow, as the record champion announced. As a result, according to FC Bayern, the striker will have to “step shorter in the coming days”. It is open whether the time until the game on Sunday against Eintracht Frankfurt is sufficient to get Kane again.
According to his own statement, the calf had problems after the Leverkusen game last Saturday (0-0), which is why he also missed the final training before the Celtic game (see previous entry) to protect himself.
Bayern Munich had to do without top scorer Harry Kane in the final training before the champions of the Champions League against Celtic Glasgow. As the Munich announced, the Englishman got a blow at the Bundesliga summit in Leverkusen (0-0) and was primarily lacking for reasons of stress control. Kane, who clearly leads the Bundesliga’s list of goalscorers with 21 goals, will be available to the German record champion on Tuesday evening (from 9 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online) against the Scots.
At the press conference, coach Vincent Kompany was also confident that he can fall back on his top scorer: “It is definitely not a bad thing. We have very little time to recover, sometimes you need this one day extra.”
