BVB apparently threatens a boss quake

Borussia Dortmund’s goals are in danger this season. Is that a reason for Hans-Joachim Watzke?
So far, little is going according to plan for Borussia Dortmund. Trainer Nuri Şahin had to go after half a year. For him, Niko Kovač came as a successor. However, the new coach in the Bundesliga has not yet won a victory, most recently there was a 0-2 defeat in Bochum. In the table, the Dortmunders are in eleventh place – with 26 points behind the leader Bayern Munich.
According to the “Sport Bild”, there is therefore designed in the club tip to promote a “restart at all levels”. The question of whether the chairman of the management, Hans-Joachim Watzke, continues, is also in the room. This depends on the sporting results of the coming months. Watzke actually wanted to go towards the end of the year.
As the magazine continues, the sporting management structure could break if Watzke decided not to compete in the upcoming presidential election in November 2025. According to media reports, that was actually the Watzkes plan. Sports managing director Lars Ricken would then affect a departure from this plan as well as sports director Sebastian Kehl and consultant Matthias Sammer.
In the coming time, however, the BVB leadership wants to closely observe the situation and decisions of the past few weeks in order to then make a decision. Ricken apparently plans to bind Sammer as a consultant in the future. In addition, Ricken is said to be under closer observation and the club is still interested in Eintracht Markus Krösche, should it not work with the current sports manager.
