“As time goes by” honors cinema greats
During the “in Memoriam” programnot at the award ceremony, Jeff Goldblum played “As Time Goes by”. With this, the room intended to everyone who had shaped the film industry last year. Among them were the actors: Donald Sutherland, James Earl Jones, Joan Plowright, Gena Rowlands and Shelley Duvall as well as musicians and actors Kris Kristofferson. Jeff Goldblum is also a jazz musician
The musical song “As Time Goes By” was originally written by Herman Hupfeld in 1931, is known through numerous cover versions and the use in the film “Casablanca” (1942) with singing by Dooley Wilson. In addition to his work as an actor, Jeff Goldblum also made himself as a jazz musician name, plays the piano and sings. With his band Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, he has released three albums. He can also be seen in a musical in the cinema: in the film adaptation of the Broadway hit and “Oz” prequels “Wicked” he plays the magician of OZ.

The prices of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) took place on Sunday, February 16. 24 international and British film limited were awarded. “Conclave” won both as the best film and the best British film. As an actor: Adrien Brody (“The Brutalist”), Mikey Madison (“Anora”), Kieran Culkin (“A Real Pain”) and Zoe Saldaña (“Emilia Pérez”) received prizes. “Wicked” won awards for the best scene and the best costume design.
