Andy Bell has published another harbinger of his new solo studio sheet “Ten Crowns” with “Don’t Cha Know”. The song was one of the first to be written for the album, the concept for the new LP was created.
The highly emotional track (“It’s very hard to say hello / when your Whole World Comes Crashing Down”) is accompanied by a video by Stephano Barberis.
“Ten Crowns” will appear on Vinyl, CD (standard and 2CD version), gold cassette and digital on May 2, 2025. You can hear happy pop, according to Andy Bell inspired by gospel and dance music. The ten songs were written with Bell’s close friend Dave Audé (producer, remixer and DJ). A highlight of the record is the guest mission of blondie front woman Debbie Harry, who is a singer at “Hearts A Liara”.
Bell and and Audé had in 2014 with “Aftermath (here we go)” and in 2016 with “True Original” had already successfully had success with dance floor hits and therefore remained loyal to the genre. Nashville had another influence, where the new songs were recorded and which has become home to the producer and Grammy winner.
The single was released a few weeks ago “Breaking Thru the Interstellar”. With the song, Andy Bell danced directly into another, paradisiacal world. The play of her singer for knowledge magazines was inspired. “It is the first song because I wanted to let people know that we will now go on a trip,” said Bell.
Hug of life
According to “Electric Blue” (2005) and “Non-Stop” (2010), “Ten Crowns” is the third solo album by Andy Bell. The singer explains to his motivation for the recordings of the new songs: “This album is about getting up to dust, hugging life – and about accepting this feeling, even if you fight against demons in the world, how Homophobia, and against demons in themselves. It’s about being solemn and encouraging. ”
The fact that it is his third solo number is a reason for Andy Bell. Because: “At Erasure, our third album was the most successful of everyone we made, so I take this spirit with me!”
