I can only say one thing: In the team, everything you need is to be successful. We have experience, talent and attributes that we are now trying to get on the field. We want to take everyone with us, not only staff and team, but also the environment. We need the energy to win at home on Friday.

If we do that, we are a good team and will score points.

Now it’s about getting the boys in situations where they come in front of the goal and to give them trust and courage. Nevertheless, the defensive is also very important to win games. That’s why we will find the right balance. We have really good players in the group and they now get the maximum support.

The contact regarding the coaching of Hertha has only taken place via Benny Weber. Nevertheless, it is the case that tick and I played together in the U21 and Ingolstadt, so of course we know each other. But he was not the decisive point why I can be here now.

In my young era, I not only reached my physical, but also mental limits. I believe that these are empirical values ​​that are good for me to deal with young players. In conversations, I keep telling you the story of how it was with me. Accordingly, I have access and can judge well what young players need to take the step into the professional area. This is a very nice challenge and it is known that I want to promote and challenge young players. That fits absolutely with the path that Hertha goes. We have a great academy here in Berlin and I will try to go a hundred percent of Berlin.

We have always talked about Hertha over the years. It was a very special station for him and that has always been reflected. He only spoke positively about the Hertha. When the possibility came now, it quickly became clear to us that we absolutely wanted to do it.

It is an incredibly intensive and duel -strong league in which many teams have been successful in the past in the past. It all has to be in harmony. Above all, it is about winning games. You need time to develop something. And you have to work out about the results.

We will decide that in the next few days. Of course I have something in my head, you don’t get unprepared anywhere. But we have two days now and we now want to use them for good training sessions and good conversations. It’s not about individual fates within the team. We all need and will take everyone with us. Each individual is now obliged to bring services and to bring themselves to the team at most.

It is important that we have remained authentic over the years. It is not about good cop and bad cop, but that everyone fulfills their tasks in their areas. Because of his Vita, Andre is an important factor in terms of defense game. He is responsible for this and will take over this area. I tend to go on the offensive. We share the tasks there. For me, he is a very important contact and not just a assistant coach. We always have a good exchange, but you don’t want to be there if it crashes between us. Of course, that also happens, but always in the spirit of the matter. That’s why I’m very happy that he is with me. Especially here in Berlin.
