The statistics show how dramatically the pace of a Finnish biathlete has accelerated, writes Santtu Silvennoinen.

Two years ago, at the World Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof, a 15-kilometer normal journey in Suvi Minkkinen overthrew 20/20 tables. He ended up in eight.

In skiing, the Finn was 56th. He lost to the wizard of 4.06.5, or about 16.4 seconds per kilometer.

Last season, on the normal distance of the Nove Mesto World Championships, the two-minute Finn was 23rd in the race and 46th in skiing. This means a loss of about 14.8 seconds per kilometer (a total of 3.41.9).

On Tuesday, Minkkinen finished fourth in the Lenzerheet World Cup with zero shooting. In skiing, Minkkinen was ranked 33 in Switzerland.

The tracks, conditions and racing sisters vary, but in skiing, a 16.4 second kilometer -per kilometer -per kilometer loss in two years by 6.6 seconds to 9.8 seconds is quiet.

During the 2024-25 race season, Minkkinen’s lowest ski loss in temporary-based competitions came in the 7.5 kilometer competition for the bronze party on Friday. The Finn bowed to the fastest woman 5.2 seconds per kilometer.

So far, the only Finn, who had a fined minute in the World Cup in the World Cup 15 kilometers, was eighth. The Baana jacket was 5.9 seconds per kilometer, totaling 1.28.5.

Finnish service fixed Minkkkinen in Germany on Friday in Switzerland and in mid -January in mid -January.
