A hostage in a home in Oosterhout releases many emotions among local residents. In the night from Sunday to Monday, a 48-year-old man was held by a peer in the Donkerstraat. Local residents speak of years of nuisance at the address. “I have been living in fear for years,” says a neighbor. The housing association is not yet planning to intervene.
Local residents were awake last night by scolding, crushed and finally in the morning by a police raid. Local residents, and even the neighbors, did not know on Monday afternoon that a hostage had taken place.
“It made a big impression on me.”
A neighboring fold is terrified in her house. “It is so stressful to live here. There is always tension in the house by my neighbor. ” She has been living in a rental house in the Donkerstraat for more than four years. “I really only have a nuisance from that man. From drug deals to quarrels. The police have already invaded him at least five times. ”
Other local residents have also experienced the man’s nuisance for years. Among other things through scooters and mopeds who drive and ride and quarrels in and around the house. “It’s not fun with the upstairs neighbor,” says a resident.
On Sunday evening, a neighbor, like more often, heard stumbling in the home of the 48-year-old neighbor. But she just went to sleep after that. “This morning at half -hearted I heard:” Police, police. ” There was very hard bonging, they fell on the right. It seemed like the whole house was over. ” A resident of the street saw the raid: “It made a big impression on me, I don’t want to say anything about it.”
“We are not going to intervene now.”
A neighbor also heard a lot of noise around a quarter to four last night: “A lot was scolded and thrown through the house with things.” An under neighbor woke up with her son from the noise. “But we also fell asleep again, we knew nothing about a hostage.” According to a neighbor, the previous occupant of her house would have ‘fled’ because of the persistent nuisance.
And the neighbor actually wants to leave. Her house does not feel like home by her neighbor. “Housing construction does nothing, they think my story is too vague and I would not have enough evidence. Today I sent a letter to the mayor. I really want to be able to live quietly and safely somewhere. ”
There are reports of nuisance from the street at Housing Association Thuisvester. “But this is a separate incident. We are not going to intervene now. ” When we tell the spokesperson that people live in fear, she responds surprised: “We will not solve this through the media, we will discuss it internally”.
The police emphasize that reports are absolutely taken seriously. “Especially when we receive several reports of nuisance from the same person,” says a spokesperson. “Where possible, we are looking for a suitable solution, possibly in collaboration with other parties. This can sometimes take some time, because the police have to make the reports proofable and the judge must also make an opinion on this.”
