Since that takeover, the staff of fifteen stores at Schiphol also fall under their own workforce. These are stores that, among other things, sell cosmetics, perfume, sunglasses and drugstore. Together it concerns 223 employees.
Yet by far the biggest increase in Schiphol itself is reflected. In 2024, the Schiphol Group had 18 percent more employees walking around at Schiphol than the year before. How does the airport explain that increase?
More external parties on contract
“After years with Covid and a reorganization, we have hired many colleagues,” says a Schiphol spokesperson. “We see that there is a lot of interest in working at Schiphol.” Among them are also people who were previously hired externally, “who we have now been able to offer a job.”
Whether the stricter enforcement of the DBA Act has played a role? That is the law that must prevent false independence among the self -employed, so that they should not be hired for the same work that employees are employed. “Does not play a role,” said the spokesperson. “The numbers are because of the set goals.”
