A remarkable story Friday: A cat survives a trip in a container to Curaçao. The beast was without food for four weeks and traveled all the way from Brabant in a sea container. Very exceptional, yet animals often make special journeys.

This also applies to this exotic beast: a family from Reek found a wall lizard in the box of their order at the beginning of this year. The protected animal had traveled all the way from Asia with the mandarin tree they had bought.

The Hagedis was then brought by the animal ambulance to the animal shelter in Ravenstein. The animal ambulance often sees animals such as a scorpion or bird spider traveling. Exotic animals are sometimes not transferred to an animal ambulance and are simply deported in nature by people.

Cat travels 300 kilometers
And the Tilburg cat Prince also made a big journey. Not in a package, but 300 kilometers below the hood of a car. She got the shock of her life and his owner too. After a burglary, not only things had disappeared from her house, Prince was also without a trace. More than a week later he gave another sign of life … from the Belgian Rekum.

Sheep in a trunk
A living sheep was found in the trunk of a car on the highway. The poor beast turned out to be from a children’s farm in Eindhoven. The officers let the driver of the car, a 37-year-old Romanian, stop because of his driving behavior. He was suspected of driving under the influence. When the agents checked the car in which the man drove, they discovered the sheep.

Scorpio in suitcase
A woman from Veghel was very shocked when she opened her suitcase at home after a trip to Costa Rica. She found a living scorpion who had unintentionally traveled with her. “The animal came from Costa Rica and there are many scorpions,” said the animal ambulance.

Dice snake
And then perhaps the most remarkable: a dice snake. Liana Sijkens discovered the animal at her home in Geldrop after a trip to Bali. Her neighbor from eight doors further assumed that the snake came out of Bali, but that the animal was precisely with her from the south of France.

Snake Geldrop probably came from France and not from Bali: ‘He was suddenly on the dashboard’
