Drs. A. (Arjen) Maathuis has been appointed mayor of the municipality of Meppel. The appointment starts on April 1, 2025.
Mr. Maathuis (35 years old) is a member of the VVD.
He is currently an alderman in the municipality of Almelo.
Cees Bijl (PvdA) is currently acting mayor of Meppel.
