The German basketball champion Bayern Munich has returned to the road to success with a lackluster competitive victory against the Skyliners Frankfurt.
The team of world champion coach Gordon Herbert prevailed against Frankfurt with 70:56 (42:35) and consolidate the lead in the Bundesliga. On Sunday, the Munich team surprisingly blessed at Rasta Vechta (65:79).
With ten points, Carsen Edwards was the best thrower of the Münchner, who had won six competitive games in a row before the defeat in Vechta. In the Bundesliga, the Löwen Braunschweig (balance 13: 6) lurk just behind the master (13: 5). The key to success against Frankfurt was a strong second quarter for Herbert’s team (28:13). The home side started the third quarter with a 7-0 run and subsequently remained on the trigger.
Also Ludwigsburg, the MBC and Chemnitz Siegen
Meanwhile, the giant Ludwigsburg won an important victory in the narrow race for the direct playoff places in the clear 81:61 against the Baskets Bonn. Forward Joel Scott led an American trio as a top scorer with 17 points.
Vechta had previously had to give up 83:91 at the MBC and thus enabled the Niners Chemnitz to open up the Lower Saxony in the table with a 72:65 against the Academics Heidelberg.
