Ozzy Osbourne’s new song is entitled “Gods of Rock N Roll” and already found the way to the Billboard mainstream rock Airplay charts before it was published on Friday (February 14).
The song is a new version of the Billy Morrison song “Gods”, which appeared on his album “God Shaped Hole” in 2015. The Black Sabbath front man wrote and sang the original. Now the song was interpreted as an orchestral version with new guitar elements by Steve Stevens. “Gods of Rock N Roll (Orchestral)” will be included at the upcoming Deluxe edition of Billy Morrison’s 2024-album “The Morrison Project”, which will appear digital on February 21. From Friday (February 14th) the song will be available as a single.
The song is already in the charts because Billy Morrison played the new version of the play last month on the “Siriusxm” channel “Ozzy’s Boneyard”. Since then the song has been picked up by other radio stations and made it to the 26th place Mainstream Rock Airplay Charts.
For the last Black Sabbath appearance
After the announcement that Black Sabbath will perform one last time on July 5, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne’s manager Sharon Osbourne spoke with “NME” about Tom Morello as a musical director and said: “He knows all the music styles, but especially with Sabbath “She also said that Tom Morello would be on stage himself. He will perform with the Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan and the Tool guitarist Danny Carey, Osbourne said. The latter had not been confirmed in the original announcement.
Announcement to the appearance
“They all come from Chicago, so they all contribute their part,” said the wife and manager of Ozzy Osbourne. “Then you become slash and duff [McKagan] See and whoever you choose to play with them. David Draiman [Disturbed] will come and sing, Jonathan [Davis] Korn will be here. He could with Chad Smith [Red Hot Chili Peppers] Or whoever play! Alice also come in Chains. “
When asked whether she would not prefer to only Black Sabbath and a few supporters, Sharon said: “No, this is a celebration – for the genre and the pioneers who started it and passed on to all of these bands. Usually you do something like that when the pioneers are dead – so it is nice that these boys are still alive and can be recognized! “
