The Biathlon World Cup in Lenzerheide begins on Wednesday with the first race. The nations that calculate medal opportunities with their mixed relay also include the Italians. The association now announced its contingent.
Hannah Aschhzentaller, Dorothea Wierer, Lukas Hofer and Tommaso Giacomel start the race for Italy at the start of the Biathlon World Cup in Lenzerheide. The quartet forms the mixed relay of the Azzurri.
In which order the ski hunters will go to the cross-country ski hunter on Wednesday (2:30 p.m. in the live ticker on Sport.de), the technical staff will still be announced, according to the Italian winter sports association FISI.
One thing is clear: from the Italian’s point of view, the race at the start of the World Cup should run significantly better than in the previous year. At the Nove Mesto World Championship, the blue quartet landed in the line -up Didier Bionaz, Tommaso Giacomel, Dorothea Wierer and Lisa Vittozzi on tithing and thus last place. The distance to the victorious French was more than four minutes.
Vittozzi is ready for the Olympics
While Bionaz was appointed to the World Cup squad again, Vittozzi is not there in Switzerland. The overall World Cup winner of the past winter ended her season at an early stage due to health reasons. The full concentration of the 30-year-old is already valid in the coming season.
Because: In around a year (February 6th to 22nd), the Olympic Winter Games take place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Vittozzi should then be in top form and enter medals for the hosts.
In addition to Ausentaller and Wierer, Carrara Michela, Comola Samuela and Trabucchi Martina were also appointed to this year’s World Cup. In the men, Cappellari Daniele and Zeni Elia complete the five -member contingent.
