The British retailer John Lewis has strengthened his management team. On Friday, the parent company John Lewis Partnership announced the appointment of Vikki Kavanagh as Chief Commercial Officer.
The retail expert comes from the online fashion retailer YOOX NET-A-PORTER Group (YNAP), in which she most recently managed the platforms Net-A-Porter and MR Porter as General Manager. Previously, she had dressed various management positions in the shopping and merchandising departments of well-known trading companies such as Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser and Fenwick.
According to John Lewis Partnership, she will start her new post in early April and will report directly to Peter Ruis, the Executive Director of John Lewis.
Ruis justified the personnel decision: “Vikki’s extensive experiences and their proven leadership qualities in the retail industry make them an enrichment of an invaluable value for our team,” he said in a statement. “Your strategic vision and your business sense will significantly help us develop ourselves and improve our offer to customers: inside.”
