The German basketball players celebrated a narrow victory in the last qualification game for the European Championship in Greece. The team of national coach Lisa Thomaidis won in Glifada after an unnecessarily exciting final phase with 67:64 (37:26).
The German team quickly took the lead and expanded it, although the battered Nyara Sabally did not play along. In the first half, Germany dominated the faulty Greeks. However, the guests are increasingly lost in the second half. Greece picked up points by point.
Geiselsöder ensures decision
The hosts came to equalize one minute before the end. In the hectic final phase with many free throws, the game was on the brink before Luisa Geiselsöder made the decision with a three-point throw. She was with a total of 22 points in Germany.
National coach Thomaidis was missing in the game. The Canadian stayed at home at her home because of a “long -known and non -movable obligation” at home, in Glyfada she was represented by her assistants Sidney Parsons and Claire Meadows.
