The 1. FC Köln continued its high and also faded FC Schalke. In the duel of the pursuers there was again a draw.
With a 1-0 job victory over FC Schalke 04, the 1. FC Köln has recaptured the top of the table of the 2nd Bundesliga. For the Domstädter, striker Damion Downs scored the goal of the day (43rd minute) in the first round. While Cologne greets from rank, FC Schalke remains in position 14.
In Hanover, the pursuers 96 and Fortuna Düsseldorf separated 1-1 (1: 1). Jannik Rochelt equalized the leadership of the guests by Myron van Brederode (27th) a few minutes later with his first goal of the season for the “Red” (35th). Both teams lose connection to the top positions through the draw. Düsseldorf is fifth, Hanover two ranks behind.
Eintracht Braunschweig sends a sign of life in the table cellar. The Lower Saxony surprisingly won at Karlsruher SC 2-0 (1-0). Levente Szabo scored in the first section by a penalty (27th). Lino Tempelmann brought the decision in the second half (74th).
Cologne once again demonstrated the newly gained ripeness and scored the next three points with little spectacle. Downs gave the “billy goats” in the lead after a hair -raising mistake by the Schalke birthday child Mehmet Aydin. The right -back wanted to drain a flank with his chest to keeper Justin Heekeren, but had made the bill without the lintel linton Maina. The latter stealed the ball and put it across for his storm partner.
In the 100th competitive game between the two traditional clubs, important regular players were missing on both sides. Cologne had to do without his yellow-locked captain Timo Hüber’s, top scorer Moussa Sylla was missing on the side of the guests with a muscle fiber tear and Paul Seguin, who also had to serve a yellow lock. At the beginning of the second half, Neo Telle, 19-year-old central defender, came into play and celebrated his professional debut in the Cologne jersey.
Fortuna’s first chance was sitting directly. Jona Niemiec prevailed against Marcel Halstenberg in the running duel and put on van Brederode, who netted on the left free -standing. But Hannover quickly struck back. Nicolo Tresoldi promoted the ball over Fortuna goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier to the goal, and he was crowded to equalize.
The second half was primarily characterized by the defensive behavior of Hanover. The Fortuna hardly found a way in front of the gate against the compact team from Breitenreiter. 96 had little to offer.
The game started with an excitement: KSC goalkeeper Max Weiß cleared Ermin Bicakcic Resolut, but due to a further foul in advance there was no penalty for the Braunschweiger (3rd). In general, a very torn game with many interruptions developed, according to the video images, after handball by Mikkel Kaufmann, there was a penalty for Eintracht. With a little luck, Szabo converted.
After the change, the KSC pushed to equalize, but often acted too cumbersome in the last third. The Braunschweigers had the clearer opportunities with their counterattacks, a sunk temple man with left alone in front of white.
