On the E19 highway at Loenhout, Belgium, just across the border at Breda, several people were injured in a chain collision. The accident arose after it went wrong in the event of a chase by the Dutch police.
Suspected driving
At the start of the evening in Noord-Brabant, agents wanted to keep a car with French license plates for suspicious driving behavior, reports the Gazet of Antwerp. The driver fled, after which the car at Hazeldonk rode another vehicle. Here only material damage occurred.
Further in Belgium, the fleeing driver lost control of the wheel and hit the head. According to the Belgian newspaper, the person was seriously injured to the hospital, but there is no life danger.
High -speed
The police have arrested the driver in the hospital. It is not known why agents thought that this person behaved suspiciously.
Shortly after the end of the chase things went wrong with the traffic jam that had arisen due to the accident. A car drove at high speed on the tail of that file.
Six injured
Six people were injured, one of them was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition. The fire brigade has freed one trapped victim from a car. Five cars have been eliminated.
Due to the chain collision, the highway in the direction of Antwerp was closed for hours. The nuisance was limited because the accident happened at a parking lot. The traffic could therefore be led over that exit.
