Nephew from Uli Hoeneß gets job transport at FC Bayern

Benjamin Hoeneß gets more responsibility from the record champions. The 45-year-old is to expand the FC Bayern brand at an international level. With a focus on a specific region.

Benjamin Hoeneß, the nephew of Uli Hoeneß and son of Dieter Hoeneß, takes on a new management position at Bayern Munich. As of now, as managing director of FC Bayern International GmbH, he will lead the club’s international activities together with Peter Romics and report directly to board member Michael Diederich.

Hoeneß has been working for FC Bayern since 2007 and started his career in sponsorship and event marketing. In 2010 he was appointed Head of Sponsoring and Events before taking over the position of Director Corporate Partnerships in 2014.

In his new role, Hoeneß will play a key role in the strategic realignment of FC Bayern, with the aim of expanding the global reach of the association and deepening cooperation with international partners. A special focus is on North America, where football through the upcoming tournaments, such as the 2025 World Cup and the 2026 World Cup, expects an important upswing.

In a message from the Munich, it said: “Partners and fans will benefit massively from these changes and the international presence of FC Bayern will be further strengthened.”

CFO Michael Diederich emphasized the importance of internationalization for FC Bayern: “The heart of FC Bayern beats in Munich and Bavaria, but internationalization remains an important priority.”

He emphasized that the club has been present in New York for over a decade and the current strategic adjustments create the prerequisites to benefit from the increased dynamics of football in North America.
