Dortmund (dpa-Afx)-Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund (BVB (Borussia Dortmund)) separated two weeks after the end of the chief coach Nuri Sahin also separated from squad planner Sven Mislintat. The 52-year-old had only returned to BVB in summer.
At first, BVB did not comment on the reasons for the separation. The Revierclub only announced that it had “released Mislintat with immediate effect”. Sports Managing Director Lars Ricken personally informed the squad planner today.
There are always differences between sports director Sebastian Kehl and Mislintat in recent months. These disputes should be decisive for bursting transfers and problems in the squad. On Saturday, the Dortmund meets Mislintats of former employers VfB Stuttgart. Then Niko Kovac will also be sitting on the BVB bank as the new chief coach for the first time.
Again and again criticism of the BVB squad
In the first half of the season there had always been criticism of the narrow squad. After a few personnel failures, the BVB had had great problems in terms of sport. After 20 game days, the Dortmunders are currently only table elder and are four points behind fourth place – the minimum goal of the association.
The separation of Mislintat had already indicated in the past few days. Sports director Ricken was repeated at the presentation of Kovacs on Tuesday.
