Austrian ski jumper Michael Hayböck to end his career for the current season.

Hayböck, 33, announced his decision at a press conference early in the week. As a fresh father, he says he wants to focus more on family life in the future.

There are nine value race medals in the Hayböck prize cabinet. It is noteworthy that they are all of the team races.

It tells everything about “Mr. Team Player”. Hayböck may not have been the toughest individual athlete of Austria’s hard hill team, but he fits in the team competition time and time again.

However, the gold medal is missing. The Olympics became silver in 2014. Seven of the medals are men’s team races, two mixed team homers.

On a personal level, Hayböck has won five World Cup competitions. Three of them have come from Finland. Salpausselkä had two wins in February 2016, and a couple of weeks later the victory came from Puijo Mäkitorni in Kuopio.
