Leverkusen stands in the semi -finals after crime thriller against Cologne

The second division from Cologne showed first -class counterattack – and caught the defending champion twice as cold. Then Leverkusen’s chase began.
Bayer Leverkusen has spectacularly prevented leaving the DFB Cup. The defending champion ran a 0-2 against 1. FC Köln in the quarterfinals for a long time, but saved himself to extend after a catch -up. After 120 minutes, the Werkelf moved into the semi-finals with a 3-2 win.
Damion Downs put the Cologne team in the lead in the ten -minute added time of the first half (45th minute +10). Team colleague Linton Maina increased after the restart (54th). Leverkusen’s striker Patrik Schick brought hope in the 61st minute before he saved the Werkelf into the extension. Striker Victor Boniface then put the lid on it (98.). A goal by Stefan Tigges for the “Effzeh” did not count due to an offside situation (112.).
By the way: The game had to be interrupted after only two minutes. Fans lit pyrotechnics, the smoke prevented a clear view of the field. Referee Frank Willenborg Pfiff at the 12th minute of play.
