In the meantime there is a real nameplate on an island in the ‘knowledge pond’, according to a post by program maker and former participant of the Slimste Max Terpstra on LinkedIn.
The idea of naming the pond after the two comes from presenter Anniko van Santen, Terpstra acknowledges. He and former participant Joes Brauers (both bar late repair givers) were allowed to place the nameplate.
“Of course, it was meant by a wink,” writes Terpstra. “But yesterday we were told that the owner of the Mediapark and the mayor now officially acknowledge the name.”
There is no question of immortalization, but the board remains at least three years, he writes. It Ad Writes that the Mediapark had officially approved the name yesterday.
‘Klamme Summer and Sad Winters’
Terpstra calls it ‘rightly’ that Philip Freriks and Maarten van Rossem are honored in this way. “Rightly so, because after 25 seasons, the smartest person, Philip and Maarten for me, Joes, and I guessed about 2 million other Dutch people, who became a bit of friends, who managed to go through the clammy summer and sad winters with delicious television to tow.”
