The criminals pull Finns under the guise of invented tax refunds and sometimes the stacks. The purpose is to access the victim’s money.
In the name of the taxpayer, there are again tax refund scams. Ismo Pekkarinen
In its weekly review, the Transport and Communications Agency Traficom’s Cyber Security Center warns of attractive scams with imaginary tax refunds.
The authority says it has received dozens of reports of messages in recent weeks that suggest that the recipient would receive tax refunds. However, a happy surprise quickly changes to great grief if the message is not realized as a scam.
According to the Cyber Security Center, there are also messages that require paying taxes.
The appearance of the messages mimics the appearance of the taxpayer’s genuine messages, including the colors and logo. The button in the email leads to a fake site to which the victim is attracted to identify with bank IDs.
If the bank IDs enter the site, they will end up with the cheaters and the account can be cleared.
If you are mistaken to provide your bank ID or debit card information to the scam site, contact your bank to minimize financial losses immediately.
