Ex-DFB coach
Löw apparently refused offer as a national coach

Since his farewell to the DFB in the summer of 2021, Joachim Löw has not accepted a new coaching job. He would apparently have had the opportunity two years ago.
As the “Sport Bild” reports, the former national coach in 2023 is said to have rejected an offer as a national coach of Saudi Arabia. Instead, Roberto Mancini took over the position in August of the same year. The Italian who led the “Squadra Azzurra” to the European Championship title in 2021 received a highly endowed contract. The collaboration was ended again in October 2024.
Löw, who will celebrate his 65th birthday next Monday, can well imagine a return as a trainer – primarily at national team level. “If I can fall back on something, then a lot of experience at tournaments,” he said. A commitment to a large final round is particularly attractive to him.
At the beginning of 2024 he had excluded a job at FC Bayern at Welt TV, but added: “However, this is also a goal for me, the World Cup 2026, America, Canada, Mexico. I would find that exciting.”
After the 2006 World Cup, Löw took over the position of national coach from Jürgen Klinsmann and led the German national team to the world championship title in 2014. He also reached the European Championship final in 2008 with the DFB team and the European Championship semi-finals 2012 and 2016. After two disappointing tournaments, his term of office ended in July 2021.
