1/2 Jesper had to flee from his student room

“People were still hungry at one o’clock in the morning,” says the Tilburg student Jesper. He was bubbled out of his room in the night from Sunday to Monday. “Brand!”, His roommates cried. “I’m guessing the Airfryer has exploded.”

Jesper was just ‘in his nest’ for a few minutes, when his roommates started banging on his door. “And look, we live in a student house, a joke is often taken out of it. But at a certain point it became a little more serious. Then I just went to have a look.”

The student saw smoke coming from under the door. There appeared to be a fire on his floor. “Then I put my glasses on, put on my coat and ran outside on my slippers. There was the heading counting.”

“Fortunately, nobody has stayed behind.”

He says it was panic and that counting did not go so well, due to the stress. “One person was very deeply asleep. He slept with his door locked, so we had to put a little more effort into it. But luckily no one has stayed behind.”

“Some people were almost naked, but luckily there were sub -cooling blankets,” says student Weronica. She lives in the complex opposite Jesper, but also had to leave her room. “Everyone is probably afraid of lighting a candle at all,” she says.

“I doubted if I saw As, but I actually think I just have to clean a little more often.”

Jesper can now enter his living space again. “I just saw a little dust on my desk. I doubted if that was as, but I actually think I just have to clean a little more often,” he chuckles.

According to the student, the complex has fire -resistant doors, which means that he has almost no damage. “But the room where the fire originated was completely felt. I am guessing that an airfryer exploded there because people were still hungry. They put some bitterballen in, run away and then a short circuit was created. There was a bang and he stood immediately In fire and flame. “

A number of fellow students from Jesper could no longer sleep in their rooms due to fire damage. “They are now being taken care of in homes that are normally used for exchange students. They are cleaned for a while and then they can,” Jesper knows.
