With two quick goals, Schalke 04 had a three-point success against the friend 1. FC Nürnberg. The narrows won 3: 1 (3: 1) on Saturday, Moussa Sylla achieved a double pack again, Schalke is now undefeated in a row.
The club especially slept the first half, which the hosts used ice cold. Kenan Karaman scored 1-0 after six minutes, and Moussa Sylla (15th) increased a little later. Almost in return, Stefanos Tzimas made the connection. Shortly before referee Max Burda’s break, Sylla scored his second goal.
In the table, the Schalke now came very close to the Franks, whose fans combine a long and good fan friendship. Nuremberg is currently twelfth with 25 points, Schalke is a dot behind in table place 13 and has now expanded the distance to the relegation zone to nine points.
“We played too inaccurate and would then be forced to long balls”said FCN coach Miroslav Klose after the game at the sports show microphone, “And that’s not our strength.” And he added: “We didn’t get Schalke defended well in the first half.” His Schalke colleague Kees van Wonderen says: “We are very happy about the result, although the game was very difficult for us. We were there at the beginning, we made a lot of pressure and the goals.”

Schalke makes steam early
Schalke 04 started the game much more committed and more alert than the Nuremberg trained by Miroslav Klose. Already in the fifth minute Taylan Bulut served Sylla perfectly, but she put the ball too far. But only seconds later, club goalkeeper Jan Reichert had to get the ball out of his goal: a free kick flank by Tobias Mohr artistically exploited Karaman from about nine meters.
Schalke stayed concentrated and worked on the second goal, which also managed quickly. After winning the ball in the opposing half, Anton Donkor ideal for Sylla, who shot into the goal from about twelve meters at the bottom. But this time Nuremberg was able to answer quickly.
Jens Castrop stayed stubborn in the penalty area of the home side and put the ball from right into the middle. Tzimas was in the right place for Tzimas and scored from a short distance.
The Schalke remained concentrated, failed with a post hit by Paul Seguin before Sylla scored 3-1 against a weak Nuremberg defense from no more than five meters. The pass from Mohr came again.
Nuremberg is now more alert, but without scoring chances
Klose switched his team in several positions during the break and thus successfully stopped the Schalke game flow. The guests worked out more and did not allow any other substantial Schalke opportunities. At the same time, however, the Franks did not succeed in creating scoring opportunities themselves. In addition, several treatment phases of players prevented the “Flow” in the Nuremberg game after duels.
Instead, the FCN was even lucky in the final phase when keeper Reichert shot the ball to his own defender Ron Schallenberg, from where the ball just stroked his own goal. Schallenberg had to be treated briefly, but could continue. Donkor scored the fourth Schalke goal in the final minute, but was rightly revoked. The Kees van Wonderen team brought the victory over time thanks to disciplined defense work in the second section.
Schalke against Magdeburg, Nuremberg against Darmstadt
