Five cars collided on the A2 from Maastricht towards Eindhoven at the Batadorp junction on Tuesday morning. The left lane was then closed. This caused a considerable delay.
The closure led to a mile-long traffic jam from the Valkenswaard exit around seven in the morning, causing a delay of forty minutes. That is why Rijkswaterstaat advised to drive via the parallel lane, the N2 ring road.
The closed lane was cleared at a quarter past seven. The traffic jam was sixteen kilometers long around that time, but then quickly decreased in length.
Even more problems on the A2
There were also problems on the A2 from Den Bosch to Utrecht. The right lane was closed for some time at the Kerkdriel exit. There was a broken car on the road. This closure led to a six-kilometre-long traffic jam from the Veghel exit around seven o’clock, causing a delay of almost half an hour.
