UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and legendary football player David Beckham, who attended the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, as a speaker and received the Crystal Award, made statements about Turkish football.

In response to the question of his thoughts about Turkish football, “I am a big fan of Turkish football” Responding, Beckham said:

“I played in Turkey a few times. I scored a goal, no, I missed a penalty in Turkey. Still, we ended up winning.

I am a big fan of Turkish football. I’m a big fan of the players there. Because it’s always tough when you play there.

I became a football player because I stay away from politics. I am not a politician or a scientist. I stay away from all kinds of politics. But all I know is the power of the game and the power of the Premier League economy. The biggest and most loved sport in the world is football, and that says it all. I hope this continues because sport and football in general can change people’s lives. I’ve seen this in children. I’ve seen it around the world.”
