After the biathlon festival in Ruhpolding, we are already looking towards Antholz. The German Ski Association (DSV) has announced the line-up of biathletes for the next stop in Italy.

The dress rehearsal for the Biathlon World Cup is taking place in Antholz. It starts on Thursday and Friday with the sprints, followed by the pursuit and relay events on Saturday and Sunday.

The German team wants to build on the strong results from the home World Cup in Ruhpolding.

While there is no change among the women, the men’s team has a returnee joining the team.

“The World Cup in Antholz is special in two respects: On the one hand, it is the last stop before the World Cup squad for Lenzerheide is announced. On the other hand, it offers the opportunity to test the 2026 Olympic facilities in competition and to familiarize yourself with possible innovations do,” said biathlon sports director Felix Bitterling.

“Philipp Nawrath, Justus Strelow, Danilo Riedmüller, Johannes Kühn and Roman Rees are starting in the men’s race. Philipp Horn is returning as planned, while David Zobel is preparing for the European Championships,” continued Bitterling. “For the women, we’re sticking with the victorious relay team from Ruhpolding for now – Franzi Preuß, Selina Grotian, Sophia Schneider and Steffi Scherer. Depending on the condition of the athletes, someone from the nearby IBU Cup camp could be nominated for the relay team.”

Because: “The European Championships are important to us because there are a lot of young talents competing there who can hopefully fight for medals.”

DSV jewel Selina Grotian is really looking forward to her debut. “Antholz is something very special for me because it will be my first time running on the routes. I’m really looking forward to it! Unfortunately I couldn’t take part last year because of a stomach bug, but now I’m even more motivated.”
