Traffic on the A27 from Breda towards Gorinchem ended up in a long traffic jam for hours in front of Werkendam on Monday morning. An accident happened there early in the morning. It is also busy on the A50 on Monday morning.
The traffic jam on the A27 was fourteen kilometers long around seven in the morning and started at Oosterhout. The delay was then more than an hour.
Broken car
Traffic could not be diverted because there was also a traffic jam on the diversion route. The road was reopened around a quarter past seven, but not much later the left lane was closed at Nieuwendijk due to a broken down car. As a result, the traffic jam increased again.
Around a quarter past eight, the traffic jam, which started at Oosterhout, was nineteen kilometers long. The delay was fifty minutes. It took until the end of the morning rush hour before traffic could flow again.
Also traffic jam on A50
Traffic on the A50 from Oss towards Eindhoven ends up in a traffic jam at Veghel. An accident happened there too. The left lane is closed there. This led to an eleven kilometer long traffic jam from Nistelrode. The delay was still 45 minutes around a quarter past nine. Previously this was an hour.
Recovery is a difficult job because the two vehicles involved are connected to each other by the tow bar.
