English theater director Claire van Kampen has died at the age of 71, says, among other things BBC. The information is confirmed by van Kampen’s husband, an actor Mark Rylance.

Van Kampen had a long career as a theater director, besides which he is known as a composer, concert pianist and screenwriter. Van Kampen also collaborated with Rylance. When Rylance starred in the Royal Shakespeare Company Huhmlet play in 1989, van Kampen composed the music for it.

Rylance and Van Kampen married in 1989. Van Kampen was previously married to an architect by Chris van Kampen with, and two daughters were born from the union. One of them, Nataasha van Kampen died at the age of 28 in 2012.
